A new, blue living room {before and after}

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. It just seemed to go by so fast for me.

We spent a good chunk of the weekend putting our house back in order. See, I finished painting the living room last weekend, but we still hadn't put the furniture back. So, at the start of the weekend, it still looked like this:

But now, it looks like this!

The before:

I was so, so nervous about painting this room. I really did like the color we painted it just one short year ago, so it seemed a little silly to paint over it. But I'm super duper excited with how it looks after a couple coats of Behr Misty Morn, the same color I painted the sitting room.

It's not too dark, not too light, and changes in different lights -- sometimes it looks really blue, other times it's more gray. And even though it's a cool color, it still has some warmth, making it a nice, cozy place to put your feet up and relax.

I still need to put art on the walls, but I'm liking it a ton already. I'll have more words tomorrow. Today, just photos. Enjoy!

Linking up!

I came over from BNOTP. I love the new color! I have a similar color in my bedroom (BM Palladian Blue) and I just love it! Everyone says it's so calming, and I'm sure your living room will feel the same. The sectional and curtains look great against the blue. Can't wait to see the room with art!

I love that color! It looks great with the green curtains. Your whole house is so pretty!

I'm from Maine originally too, but I've lived in Florida for the past 16 years. I'm following your blog now because it reminds me of home!

Your room is fabulous. I love the fresh crispness of blue and green and you chose the perfect shades. I'll bet you have plans for changing up your coffee table too.Amy at www.maisondecor.blogspot.com painted her coffee table and used a tone on tone stencil on it. I've wanted to try that too.

Your room is beautiful. I love how rehanging the curtains made it feel so much more spacious. Your table is a kidney shape. It was probably a small dressing table from the 40's or early 50's. It would have had a split skirt that was attached to two arms that would have been hinged to swing outward.See the 2" vertical part of the legs. That is where the arms would have been attached.
