I've been gone for a while. I didn't mean to be, but life got crazy and I didn't have a lot of time for DIYing, or decorating, or doing anything blog-worthy, really.
But I've missed doing all of this, and I've missed all of you. So I'd like to be back for good. If you're still around and still reading, I thank you!
So, what have I been up to over the last six months? I changed jobs, and I focused on training that little pup of ours. The last time I posted, Colby was just four months old and about 20 pounds. Now he's nearly a year old and is topping out at 60 pounds!
He's been a handful, but I can't imagine life without him. He also likes to DIY. He recently decided that our guest room needed some redoing...
Oy. (But look at that face!)
Like I said, I didn't do much DIY or decor-related over the summer and fall. But in the last couple months, the hubs and I have made some big progress on our entryway. This has been an evolving project. Some background: When we bought our house, the washer and dryer were in the entryway. It didn't take us long to realize this wasn't going to work out for us, so we moved them to the basement. We have plans to make a laundry room down there someday, but first we wanted to tackle the entryway.
The moving of the appliances left us with a big empty closet, along with a little coat closet already in the space. After taking stock of the space and doing a lot of planning, we decided to tear out both closets and make one big room.
This project so far has entailed demolition, drywall, electrical, plumbing (removing a baseboard heater), flooring, cabinetry, painting... in short, a lot of work! Months later, we're still working on this project, so no finished results yet. I'll have more to share on its evolution so far another day.
After a few months' break and the New Year, I'm feeling quite antsy to make progress on other areas of the house too. I'll have more to share on that progress another time.
Again, I'm sorry for my hiatus and hope I still have some readers out there :) Let me know what you've been up to!
