I'm popping in to show you a DIY furniture makeover. I've had this little chair for years -- I think it came from a great-uncle's house. I used it at my desk in my room when I was a kid, and since we moved into our house, it's become my sewing chair. I've always liked its diminutive size, but, well, the red vinyl seat and the beat-up wood frame wasn't really doing it for me anymore.
I used leftover paint from our office makeover and a little fun fabric to give this chair a facelift.
Don't look too closely, because it's far from perfect. I sanded the frame down, but it was pretty dinged up, and I actually kind of like its weathered look. The paint is Valspar's Porch Grey, which we used on the walls in the office. Do you recognize the fabric? Yep, it's the same as what I used to give my bulletin board a makeover!
It was definitely a budget makeover -- the only thing I bought for this was a little extra stuffing for the seat. I read on another blog (gah, I can't remember which one!) about buying fake snow on clearance to use for crafting, and when I spotted this stuff on sale at Michaels, I snatched it up (and yes, that's how long ago I started this project). I think it was about $3 or $4. And it's glittery!
I took the seat off, removed the staples holding on that red vinyl and actually found two other fabrics underneath.
Then, I covered the seat with the buffalo snow, covered it with fabric and hot glued it to the underside of the seat (since I didn't have a staple gun).
Now I've got a cuter place to sit while I'm working on my sewing projects!

That is the cutest re-do of a chair! It's bright, cheery and invites one to sit down and be comfortable.
Of course then I had to go back and look at your house - it's wonderful and bet you're having fun decorating.

OMG, I have that same little chair! Does yours have the seat that lifts to reveal a place to store things? We call ours The Secret Chair. I would love to repaint it - yet again. Check it out:
